Head of Accounts

Veitch Penny are seeking a new Head of Accounts to take over from our present head who is retiring later this year after many years with the firm. 

You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of the accounts department, ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.  Tasks will include client and office posting, regular reconciliations of office and client account, checking and posting invoices and statements, preparing VAT returns and assisting the Managing Partner by providing information for budget and cash flow projections.  You will work alongside our part time Quality /HR Manger (who deals with payroll and pensions but can also assist with many accounts functions when needed) and an experienced assistant who is normally works part-time, but works full time to cover holidays/sickness when needed.

You will be based in our pleasant Exeter city centre offices supporting the 4 partners and 9 further fee earners spread between our Exeter and Crediton offices.   

Salary dependent on experience.

Vacancy - Property Paralegal Exeter office

We are seeking a Property Paralegal who would be assisting a Partner in dealing with a mix of matters but predominately residential conveyancing.

The candidate should have experience of the conveyancing process and be able to undertake a range of tasks including, but not limited, to taking instructions from clients either face to face or over the phone, preparing contract packs, reviewing title papers and search results and liaising with lenders and agents where appropriate.

The role would not initially involve handling of any files of their own but scope for progression for the right candidate

Vacancy - Experienced Property Lawyer

We are seeking an experienced property lawyer to work at our busy Crediton office.

The successful candidate would be running their own residential conveyancing caseload and supervising other members of staff.  Experience in other property transactions is desirable but not essential.
